Ben’s 1977 Datsun 280Z

1977_Datsun_280z_Jake_Miller_1

This lovely 1977 Datsun 280z belongs to my roommate Ben Cort. He picked this rig up a year or so ago after tiring of his 05 WRX wagon. These cars aren’t too easy to come by these days so when this one popped up on Craigslist he jumped on it. The previous owner had pulled the head off and apart for unknown reasons. The plan was initially just to get the motor back together and tidy a few things up here and there. However like many car projects do, things escalated rather quickly. Ben is only just getting started to! More on Ben’s 280z after the jump. Photo’s by me, Jake Wolf Miller.

1970 Datsun Bluebird 1800 SSS

I’ve been communicating with Chris Houts, the owner of this beauty, for a few month now as the build progressed so was happy to finally see his Bluebird in person at XDC Dallas. As Marketing Manager at Enkei Wheels, I have the gift/curse duty of scanning through sponsorship request and as you can imagine, I’ve seen everything from hideous to unbelievably amazing builds. Chris’ 1970 Datsun Bluebird absolutely falls under one of those amazing builds. It was a pleasure meeting Chris and shooting his Bluebird – hope you enjoy the photos. – ALEX

Chris would like thank and mention his sponsor Wiring Specialties for there amazing Harness that made his swap a million times easier and is responsible for the engine bay being so clean. More photos and spec list after the jump (be ready to fall in love)!

Video: Depth of Speed: My Church – Datsun

Josh Clason releases a video giving you the rundown on Datsun nut Allan Anderson’s obsession with everything Datsun. It’s an awesome video and a great way to spend six minutes of your day. Or 18 minutes if you’re like us! – WMD

Video description: I love seeing dedication to a brand. There is nothing better than seeing the fruits of ones labor after they are bitten by the bug. For Allan, these fruits are his Datsuns and the journey they have brought him on over the past 15 years. For some the development of a car is the journey and nothing brings more joy and satisfaction. The car world as a whole is a better place because of those whose effort, time, and dedication save these cars along the way. My hat to you, Allan.

SEMA 2011: 1971 Datsun 510

enkei-apache-2-datsun-510_SEMA_2011_a

Enkei Wheels continues to support the classic Japanese car movement by re-introducing the Apache 2 wheel. What better way to premier the wheel than to put them on a beautiful 1971 Datsun 510. I spent a lot of time in the Enkei booth and was surprised how many people were stoping buy to not only take a pic of it but to a pic with the 510. A lady looked over to me amazed with a huge smile on her face and said “I had one of these as my first car… cost me $100″. The 510 definitely took the spotlight at the Enkei Wheels booth. Maybe it was the WMD sticker… maybe not. More pics –> [click to continue…]
